Warm meeting with Mikhail Myasnikovich. Ararat Mirzoyan
The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail Myasnikovich, on February 7.
Welcoming the guests, the National Assembly President congratulated Mikhail Myasnikovich on his election as the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an important organization for Armenia, noting that priorities for the structure were outlined during the anniversary summit of the EAEU held last year in Yerevan. He stated that the geographical scope of actions has expanded, new avenues of cooperation with Iran have been defined, and a free trade agreement has been concluded with Singapore—both of which will be extremely important.
Mikhail Myasnikovich highly appreciated the established relations with Armenia. Highlighting the high authority of the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Ararat Mirzoyan, he discussed the possibility of support from the President of the National Assembly in addressing a number of issues facing the EAEU both within the organization and on international platforms.
The interlocutors talked about the harmonization of the legislative framework within the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission reported that a draft strategy of the EAEU is being developed and that they would greatly appreciate support at the parliamentary level.
Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that, considering the authority of Armenian parliamentarians in international platforms, he requests the support of our parliamentarians for relevant proposals.
Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed that Armenia is constructively disposed and open to cooperation in all directions.
