Emergency Situations Ministry Warns: Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 7 at 16:57, there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Mountain Pass is closed for all types of vehicles. The roads in the Sotek-Karvachar, Shirak region's Ashotsk, the region of Amasia, as well as the roads leading to the villages of Sarapat, Kakavasar, Salout, Musayelyan, and Berdashen are difficult to traverse.

There are patches of black ice on the Kapan-Goris road, and in the sections of Saravan-"Zanger" and Sisian-"Zanger". Snow is falling in the city of Hrazdan, Kotayk region, while blizzards are reported on the Tsilkar-Spitak road and in the Aragatots region's Aparan and Tsaghkadzor areas.

According to information received from the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. The Russian side reports that there are 450 heavy trucks accumulated at the border.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
