Avinyan Discusses Over €1.4 Billion Investment Package and 180 Projects with EBRD Vice President
On February 7, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan welcomed a delegation led by Pierre Heilbronn, Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The parties expressed satisfaction regarding the EBRD's annual meeting held in Yerevan in 2021, emphasizing the importance of this event in raising international financial and economic circles' attention towards Armenia.
Tigran Avinyan thanked the EBRD for their trust and emphasized that the annual meeting will be conducted at the highest level. The discussions covered a range of issues regarding the effective cooperation between Armenia and the EBRD, which includes an investment package worth over €1.4 billion and 180 projects.
The EBRD Vice President noted that the previous year was one of the most successful, with projects amounting to €118 million, and expressed hope that this trend will continue in 2020. Tigran Avinyan highlighted that the private sector's share in the EBRD's overall project portfolio stands at 87 percent, serving as a significant boost for the development of the sector.
During the meeting, they discussed the transport network program in Yerevan. In this context, Pierre Heilbronn stressed the importance of the Deputy Prime Minister's role in coordinating actions between various departments and the Yerevan municipality.
Additionally, the parties addressed the comprehensive reforms taking place in Armenia. Tigran Avinyan presented the public management reform process, indicating that it will be one of the most ambitious and extensive reforms implemented in the country.
