President Appeals to Constitutional Court
The President has not signed the law on Banking Secrecy and has appealed to the Constitutional Court, as reported by the Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
"The laws on amendments and supplements to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and on amending the law on Banking Secrecy, adopted by the National Assembly on January 22, 2020, are prima facie problematic from a constitutional perspective. The President has not signed these laws and has addressed the Constitutional Court with relevant legal reasoning and arguments, requesting a determination on their compliance with the Constitution," the statement published on the presidential website reads.
