My Resignation Was Due to the Issue of Hrayr Tovmasyan: Vanetsyan

My resignation was due to the issue of Hrayr Tovmasyan. This was stated by former director of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, during a meeting with editors of Armenian newspapers.

According to him, the authorities do not hide the fact that they will not tolerate Hrayr Tovmasyan's role as President of the Constitutional Court.

“I got acquainted with Hrayr Tovmasyan after becoming the president of the Football Federation, because Hrayr Tovmasyan's son played on the U14 national team, he is a very talented child, and Hrayr Tovmasyan often attended the games, where we met. The recent developments around the Constitutional Court are something I could not take part in. Now, I cannot answer your question about whether there was a direct instruction for me. I am saying that one of the main reasons for my resignation was the disagreement on this issue, and I made a call to pause for sobriety, which unfortunately did not reach its intended destination,” said Vanetsyan.
