Arsen Torosyan on Coronavirus Transmission via Fruits and Packages

The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, wrote on his Facebook page:

“Dear citizens, in recent days, information has been circulated in the media and on social networks regarding the transmission of the new coronavirus infection through bananas, other fruits, or packages sent from China. According to the World Health Organization, the infection is transmitted by droplet and contact (close contact) routes, from person to person, and in China, also from animals to humans. Moreover, the pathogen cannot survive long on the surfaces of fruits or packages and cannot serve as a source of infection transmission. Therefore, there is no need to refrain from consuming fruits and vegetables. Please spread this information.”
