VIDEO: Attempted Abduction of a Child in the Vicinity of Yerevan's Number 160 School
Yesterday, Facebook user Luiza Muradyan published a video on her page, stating that an attempted child abduction took place near Yerevan’s Number 160 School.
The user specifically wrote, “There was an attempted abduction of a child near the 160 school today. Fortunately, the child managed to escape... Moms, be vigilant!”
Auroranews contacted Hasmik Martirosyan, the deputy principal of Number 160 School located on Avanessov Street in Yerevan’s Erebuni administrative district, who informed us that the incident occurred 400 meters away from the school.
“The child was taken from school by a neighbor, who picked up that child along with her own. When they reached the building, the child said he was going upstairs, and the neighbor went ahead. After that, a young man approached and persuaded the child to go somewhere with him. The child initially complied but later escaped,” said the deputy principal.
Auroranews also reached out to Zarzand Gabrielyan, head of the media relations department of the Armenian police, who stated that such an incident has been registered and the police will issue a statement.
