Live: Relatives of Deceased Soldier Head to Yerevan, Blocking Armavir-Yerevan Highway
Relatives of a soldier who died on January 30 in a shooting range in Artsakh do not believe the official version of suicide. Today, February 2, the family of the soldier from the village of Haytag has taken to the streets in protest, delaying the burial arrangements.
According to a correspondent from News.am, the police have currently blocked the Armavir-Yerevan highway and are preventing the relatives from reaching Yerevan.
The family of the soldier, Vahram Avagyan, who died under peaceful conditions, rejects the official narrative that their son committed suicide at the military unit. “The relevant authorities are either not conducting a proper investigation or are trying to cover up what happened. My brother could not have committed suicide; he was not capable of such an act,” said Vahan Avagyan, the soldier's brother, in a conversation with Auroranews.
