Health Ministry's Call to MP Mane Tandilyan

Health Ministry's Call to MP Mane Tandilyan

The priority of the Ministry of Health is the preservation of children's health, and therefore programs aimed at this goal will naturally not be discontinued.

"Let’s overcome diabetes together" is a five-year program that started in November 2015 and is effective until November 2020. The beneficiaries of the program are children and young people aged 0-22 who are registered insulin-dependent individuals. It aims to improve their quality of life.

The program also has a charitable component, through which insulin pens, needles, and the renovation and equipping of four diabetes management centers have been provided. Additionally, glycosylated hemoglobin measurement analyzers and test strips have been installed in these four centers.

Thus, it is evident that there is still a significant amount of time left until the completion of the program, and the children will be provided with medication until at least March 2021. The concerns raised by parents, and even more so by the MP, regarding this issue, remain unclear.

Furthermore, in order to ensure the continuity of the program, we plan to announce a new procurement competition this spring. At the same time, we would like to inform that since 2015, the ministry has also been providing glucose testing strips, which were given to each child once a month until 2019, and starting from 2019, two boxes per month. This program is also ongoing, and there have never been any interruptions.

We call on MP Mane Tandilyan of the LHK faction of the National Assembly to verify with the ministry before making any public statements regarding health sector issues.
