Doctors at the Reims University Hospital in France have saved the life of a 28-year-old man who shot himself in the head with a crossbow. This has been reported by France 3.
It was later revealed that the young man had decided to end his life after separating from his beloved girlfriend. He chose a unique method of suicide – firing a crossbow at himself.
The arrow entered through the neck area and passed completely through the skull, exiting from the middle of the forehead. When the doctors arrived, the unfortunate lover was conscious. He was hospitalized.
Surgeons successfully managed to remove the arrow from the patient's head, saving his life. After the operation, the man spent two days in the intensive care unit, before being transferred first to the ENT department and then to the psychiatric unit.
