Difficult Roads in Armenia, According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 5 at 17:30, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for all types of vehicles. The roads to Dzhagharak village in Gegharkunik province (blizzard), Sotk-Karvachar (blizzard), and the Artik-Alagyaz road in Shirak province are difficult to pass.

In the Syunik province, the region of Tsaghkadzor in Aragatsotn, Kuchak-Aparan, and Yerevan-Sevan roads, there are spots with black ice.

Snow is present in the Saravan-Zanger section, in the cities of Jermuk and Yeghvard in Vayots Dzor province, as well as in Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Shirak provinces, except for the regions of Ani and Artik.

Regarding the Lars Road, according to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian EMERCOM in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles but closed for trucks. According to the information from the Russian EMERCOM's Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia, there are 863 trucks piled up on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
