Arsen Babayan: A Draft Presented That Would Turn Armenia into a Monarchy
Authors of this draft must be remembered, as if this anti-state draft is adopted, they will have to answer future generations as to why they created a precedent that would prevent the Republic of Armenia from having an independent judicial authority.
This was stated by human rights defender Arsen Babayan in a post on his Facebook page.
“Members of Parliament — (symbolic number of 37) Vahagn Hovakimyan, Arman Boshyan, Meri Galstyan, Arusyak Julhakyan, Armen Pambukhchyan, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Babken Tunyan, Tigran Karapetyan, Hakob Simidian, Karen Hambardzumyan, Hayk Konjoryan, Vahe Qalumyan, Narek Mkrtchyan, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Takouhi Ghazaryan, Sargis Khandanyan, Sofia Hovsepyan, Maria Karapetyan, Andranik Kocharyan, Hovhannes Igityan, Tatevik Hayrapetyan, Lilit Makunts, Arman Yeghoyan, Hovik Aghazaryan, Argishti Mekhakyan, Narek Zeynalyan, Alexander Avetisyan, Tigran Ulikhanyan, Sergey Movsisyan, Ruben Rubinyan, Gayane Abrahamyan, Anush Beghloyan, Hripsime Grigoryan, Matevos Asatryan, Alexey Sandikov, Lusine Badalyan, and Sos Avetisyan have presented a draft constitutional amendment in the National Assembly today that, if adopted, would turn the Republic of Armenia into a monarchy with formal democratic institutions.”
These authors of the draft must be remembered, as if this anti-state draft is adopted, they will have to answer future generations as to why they created a precedent that ultimately hindered the Republic of Armenia from having an independent judicial power. Moreover, after facing historical accountability for being anti-state in the textbooks of future generations, they will also have to face criminal responsibility after the future and genuine revolution. I assure you that a real revolution will take place in the Republic of Armenia…”
