David Movsesyan, Son of Arkady Movsesyan (Shmayis), Rejects Charges Brought Against Him, Defense Says
David Movsesyan, the son of former MP Arkady Movsesyan (Shmayis), does not accept the charges brought against him. His defense lawyer, Ashot Apresyan, informed NEWS.am about this.
He mentioned that they have appealed the decision to arrest David Movsesyan to the First Instance Court. “Since the Investigative Committee has also submitted a request for detention, the court will consider both requests together,” he said.
The lawyer added that the requests have been under review since yesterday, and the court is currently in a consultative session.
It is noteworthy that the Investigative Committee recently announced that David Movsesyan has been charged under part 3 of Article 359 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to violations of the regulatory rules governing the relationships among servicemen in the absence of subordinate relationships, resulting in significant consequences through negligence. A request has been submitted by the investigator to the court for selecting detention as a preventive measure against him.
