I Did Not Know What Was in the Envelope. Videos Related to the Case of Razmik Abrahamyan and Arsen Davtyan Were Disclosed in Court
The hearings in the case of former Deputy Minister of Health Arsen Davtyan and Razmik Abrahamyan, director of the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, continue today, February 3, at the Shengavit judicial residence of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction. This was reported by News.am.
During today’s hearing, the videos relevant to the case are being examined. It is noted that filming journalists is prohibited during the examination of evidence.
The video shows Arsen Davtyan taking out $3,000 from a drawer in the presence of law enforcement, money that was given to him by Razmik Abrahamyan. In the video, Davtyan tells the law enforcement officers that he did not know what was in the envelope handed to him by Abrahamyan: “I did not know what was in the envelope; I tore it open, and only then saw it.”
Women were also present at the court hearing, claiming that they have been unlawfully deprived of their children.
According to the indictment, Arsen Davtyan, as a public official, received a particularly large bribe for providing patronage through his service and for using his official position to facilitate certain actions. Razmik Abrahamyan has also been charged with giving a particularly large bribe to Arsen Davtyan, who is the Deputy Minister of Health and in charge of coordinating the work of maternal and child health care and the financial work carried out through the ministry in the health care system.
