China Accuses the U.S. of Spreading Panic Over Coronavirus
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying has stated that the United States has provided no significant assistance in the fight against the coronavirus, and instead has spread panic in the process.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, many countries have provided aid and support to China, and we are grateful for that. However, as far as I know, the U.S. government has not only failed to offer significant assistance to China but has, on the contrary, been the first to withdraw its consular staff from Wuhan and expressed intentions to evacuate some embassy staff from China. It was also the first to prohibit all Chinese citizens from entering the U.S. after the World Health Organization advised against imposing restrictions on travel and trade,” said the Chinese diplomat.
He noted that the U.S. has instigated and spread “panic” through its actions.
