Patients Infected with Coronavirus May Be Deported from Russia
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has announced that a national program aimed at preventing the import and spread of the virus in the country has been signed. The coronavirus has been added to the list of highly dangerous diseases. The Prime Minister also stated that Russia has all necessary medications and protective measures.
According to Interfax, foreign nationals who are found to have the new coronavirus may be deported from Russia, as reported by Prime Minister Mishustin. The head of the Russian government indicated that the situation regarding the spread of the virus is manageable.
“Deportation of foreign citizens can be implemented if they have such an illness, along with the application of special restrictive measures, including isolation and quarantine,” Mishustin clarified. He reminded that the movement of Chinese citizens across the country’s border is already restricted. Patients are being isolated and receiving the necessary assistance.
In addition, he recalled that a temporary ban has been imposed on the issuance of tourist and work visas to Chinese citizens. Mishustin also announced the decision to send humanitarian aid to China to combat the outbreak.
“Russia now has all necessary medications and treatments. It is important that people are fully supplied with these and, of course, that prices in pharmacies remain at the same level,” emphasized Mishustin.
So far, only two cases of infection with the 2019-nCoV virus have been recorded in Russia. These were revealed on January 31, and both infected individuals are Chinese nationals.
