57 People Die from Coronavirus in China in Last 24 Hours
In China, 361 people have succumbed to the new coronavirus, with more than 17,000 infected. This was announced on February 3 by the State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People's Republic of China. Notably, these numbers are changing hourly, if not minute by minute.
“As of midnight on February 2, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in China reached 17,205, with the condition of 2,296 individuals assessed as severe, while 475 patients have been discharged from hospitals, bringing the death toll to 361,” the report states.
In the last 24 hours, 57 people have died from the coronavirus in China, and 2,829 new cases have been identified. There have been 15 confirmed cases of infection with the 2019-nCoV virus detected in Hong Kong, eight in Macao, and ten in Taiwan. Additionally, 21,558 suspicious cases have been registered.
According to the South China Morning Post, citing data from the Beijing National Health Commission, 96 people have been infected with the coronavirus in other Asian countries, 23 in Europe, 13 in North America, 12 in Australia, and five in other parts of the world.
