Seven Armenian Citizens in China’s Hubei Province May Be Evacuated

The Armenian Embassy in China is in constant contact with about 400 Armenian citizens registered at the embassy who are currently residing in various provinces of the country, of which seven are currently in Hubei province. The issue of evacuating Armenian citizens is under discussion.

This was mentioned by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Avet Adonts during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia, Tian Erlun. During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation related to the spread of the new type of coronavirus in China.

Ambassador Tian emphasized the Chinese side's readiness to continue close cooperation with the Armenian side in addressing various problems related to the spread of the virus. A detailed discussion took place regarding the challenges faced by Armenian citizens in Hubei province and the steps to be taken to address these issues.

The Embassy is taking steps to respond to the concerns and issues of Armenian citizens as much as possible. The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Armenian Embassy in China are maintaining ongoing contact with the Chinese government and other partner countries regarding the evacuation of Armenian citizens.
