The Kazakh Side is Prepared for Battle: What Issues May Arise?

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports: During the EAEU meeting, the Armenian government raised concerns regarding the transportation of vehicles from Armenia to the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is known that for more than two weeks, potential car buyers from Kazakhstan have not stepped foot in the car market. The Kazakh side has created serious problems for Armenian sellers of vehicles.

It turns out that Armenians were not allowed to sell vehicles to Kazakhstan after joining the EAEU during the transition period; these vehicles were supposed to be used only by citizens of the Republic of Armenia residing permanently in Armenia.

"Zhoghovurd" newspaper previously wrote that this issue is being addressed by Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. Notably, he is currently on a working visit to Kazakhstan and is participating in the EAEU meeting. The Deputy Prime Minister had told us that he would raise this issue.

Yesterday, the newspaper had a phone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and inquired whether the Armenian government raised this issue during the EAEU meeting to protect the rights of Armenian citizens. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated that bilateral consultations had taken place regarding the regulation of the transportation of vehicles from Armenia to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Judging by the situation, it can be assumed that the Kazakh side is quite combative on this issue. We hope that the Armenian side will succeed in somewhat softening the Kazakh side's rigid stance.
