Heavy Snowfall: Lars Closed, Several Roads Impassable
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 1 at 08:30, there are closed and impassable roads in the Republic of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for heavy vehicles, and blizzards are reported on the Sotk-Karvachar road. The Lanjik-Mastara and Gyumri-Ararat roads, as well as the Dilijan bends, are difficult to navigate. There is black ice on the Aragats-Artik and Maralik-Lanjik roads.
The M-1 highway section between Mayisyan and Ashotzk is closed to all types of vehicles.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia's North Ossetian Crisis Management Center, the Stepanatsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of transportation.
According to the information from the North Ossetian Crisis Management Center, there are 90 heavy trucks and 20 passenger cars stranded on the Russian side.
