Government Adds 'New Coronavirus' to List of Infectious Diseases Hazardous to Public
The Government of Armenia has made an urgent decision in February to add the 'new coronavirus infection (2019n-CoV)' to the list of diseases that pose a risk to the surrounding community.
Since December 2019, a new strain of coronavirus has emerged in China, leading to a pandemic situation worldwide. The World Health Organization has classified the situation as a 'public health emergency of international concern' and urged all countries to take appropriate preventive measures to combat the spread of the infection.
In this context, the government made an urgent decision today to include 'new coronavirus infection (2019n-CoV)' in the list of infectious diseases that pose a risk to the community. This will allow for more effective implementation of infection prevention efforts, organization of patient hospitalization processes, and facilitate non-voluntary medical examination and/or treatment of individuals, thereby protecting the community from the spread of the infection.
