Fog on Yerevan-Sevan Road, Blizzard Conditions in Shirak Province

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of February 1, at 19:30, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads throughout Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks and difficult to traverse for passenger vehicles due to blizzard, fog, and snow conditions. In Shirak Province (black ice is present) and in the Vardenis and Gegharkunik regions of Gavar, roadways are impassable for all types of vehicles.

The Sotk-Kapan road (experiencing blizzard, fog, and black ice) is accessible only to trucks using chains, while passenger vehicles find the route difficult to navigate.

In Syunik Province, all roadway conditions are affected by occasional black ice. In Vayots Dzor Province, snow is reported in the city of Jermuk and at the Saravan-Zanger section.

The Gyumri-Armavir road is affected by blizzard conditions at the Baghramyan-Anipemza section, as well as at the Lanjik-Mastara, Keti-Vardaghbyur, and Mantash-Aparan segments.

Fog has developed on the Yerevan-Sevan road from km 19 leading towards the city of Hrazdan in Kotayk Province, and also in Goris City in Syunik Province.

According to information from the National Department of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia of the Russian Federation, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed to all types of vehicles. As of 15:30, there are 220 trucks and 95 passenger vehicles piled up on the Russian side.
