Video: Husband Kills Wife and Hangs Her with a Rope, Suicide Staged

On January 22, at 5:30 PM, the Tavush police received a report that a 30-year-old resident of the village of Chinari had hanged herself at home.

The operational-investigative group that responded to the call clarified that the incident occurred in the bedroom, where a rope and a knife were found, which the husband supposedly used to cut the rope and attempted to assist the hanging woman. But why supposedly? Tavush police determined on site that the suicide was staged.

According to preliminary data, a 31-year-old man had strangled his wife with the rope out of jealousy and then used the knife to cut the rope in order to mislead law enforcement later.

As soon as factual data regarding the incident was gathered, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of murder. Hours after the incident, during the night of January 23, the man was taken to the Tavush police station, where he was presented to the investigative body handling the case and was arrested.

Examinations have been ordered. The circumstances are being clarified.
