Video: Corruption Case Discovered in Aragatsotn Province

The police department in the town of Aparan has obtained substantiated evidence through extensive operational-investigative measures indicating that the head of the community in the village of Ara, Aragatsotn Province, between August 2016 and November 2017, unlawfully appointed his son as a water meter reader at the community hall with a monthly salary of 56,000 AMD. The son did not report to work, and the job was carried out by other individuals; however, the son was compensated by relevant officials, causing the state an estimated 900,000 AMD in damages, according to the ongoing investigation.

This information was provided by the police's press service. Furthermore, from September 2016 to November 2017, the head of the community also unlawfully appointed a woman as a librarian at the community hall, who also did not report to work but was compensated, resulting in an estimated 800,000 AMD in additional damages to the state.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding these alleged crimes, and measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances. The investigation is ongoing.
