VIDEO. Agreement Reached to Surrender Weapon Without Handcuffs, Aharonian
The head of the Public Relations Department of the Police of Armenia, Ashot Aharonian, addressed the circumstances surrounding the transfer of a person who fired shots at the 'Erebuni Plaza' hotel today without handcuffs on his Facebook page. He wrote: 'Today, the acting head of the police, Arman Sargsyan, conducted negotiations with the individual who fired shots at the 'Erebuni Plaza'. The negotiations ended successfully; the shooter surrendered his weapon, submitted to law enforcement, and was transferred to the police.'
A video circulating on social media shows the moment the individual was placed into a vehicle, which has received critical comments from some users, particularly questioning why the subdued individual was not in handcuffs. It is important to note that an audio recording of the negotiations conducted by Arman Sargsyan has also surfaced on social media, revealing that the agreement to surrender the weapon was reached on the condition of not being placed in handcuffs. This means that the absence of handcuffs was a negotiation condition and a crucial element of the disarmament process. We advise those making judgments on the unknown to refrain from amateur interpretations.'
