VIDEO: Ashtarak Police Uncover Director Misconducts at Schools
Based on information received by the Ashtarak Police Department, actions were taken that revealed factual evidence of misconduct by the principal of the Hovhannes Tumanyan Secondary School in the Byurakan community. In April 2013, the principal held a competition for vacant class hours in mathematics and informatics, which was announced in violation of established procedures. A woman without the necessary qualifications participated in the competition, and after passing, she taught classes and received a salary, causing significant damage to the legitimate interests of the state.
According to other factual data, the principal of the Ohanyan Senior School, using her official position, improperly arranged class hours in her name, for which no documentation exists. As a result, over 1 million 200 thousand drams were embezzled from the school’s budget. Additionally, without announcing a competition, without transfer-acceptance acts, technical specifications, or payment schedule documents, the principal acquired a total of over 6 million 170 thousand drams worth of diesel fuel for the school’s heating from several organizations, which caused serious damage to the state.
During the preparation of materials, it was also revealed that this principal was replaced by a woman in 2017, who appointed her husband as a psychologist without the appropriate qualification documents, leading to the embezzlement of over 590 thousand drams through wasteful methods. Criminal cases have been initiated at the Ashtarak Police Department regarding these incidents, which have been referred to the territorial investigation department.
