Renowned Musicologist Ruben Aveti Terteryan Has Passed Away
Renowned musicologist Ruben Aveti Terteryan has passed away.
Ruben Terteryan was the author of monographs and over 150 scientific and journalistic articles, published in scientific collections, magazines, and newspapers in Yerevan, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Cuenca, and Quito (in Armenian, Russian, Spanish, and English). He also authored over 30 radio and television programs.
From 1982 to 1994 and again from 2011 to 2014, Ruben Terteryan taught at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, serving as the deputy rector from 2011 to 2014. Between 1983 and 1985, he was a senior consultant for the Armenian SSR Union of Composers, and from 1985 to 1988, he held the position of deputy director of the Armenian State Philharmonic. He was the director of the 'Dramatist' concert organizing cooperative affiliated with Hayhamerg from 1989 to 1993.
From 1995 to 2000, he worked as a musical designer for the theater group of the Armenian Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Between 2003 and 2010, he taught at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Cuenca, serving as the director of the Music Department from 2004 to 2008 and the director of the Master's program in Music Education at the University of Cuenca from 2008 to 2010. He also held the position of director of the Master's program in Music Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Quito, Ecuador, from 2009 to 2010.
Ruben Terteryan was the son of the famous composer Avet Terteryan.
