Opening of Yerevan Planetarium Set for February
The long-awaited opening of the planetarium in Yerevan’s English Garden will take place on February 21 of this year. Grigor Mashuryan, the director of the planetarium, stated this in an interview with 'Haykakan Jamanak'. The center's opening was originally scheduled for December 31, but according to him, it was postponed due to technical reasons.
As previously reported, Yerevan will see its first planetarium, with ticket prices expected to be affordable, similar to those of cinema tickets. The planetarium is a dome-shaped structure where 360° films about the universe will be screened. These films will cover topics such as the origin of the universe, the formation of stars and planets, space exploration, and the development of space technologies.
It will accommodate up to 50 people, who will be able to lie on mats and gaze at the starry sky, with a screen diameter of 14 meters.
