Opening of the Crimean Bridge Contradicts International Legal Norms: Kyiv Sends Protest Note to Moscow
Official Kyiv has sent a protest note to Moscow regarding the opening of the railway section of the Crimean Bridge by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is noteworthy that President Putin officially inaugurated the railway traffic across the Crimean Bridge over the Kerch Strait today. During a ceremonial event held in Tamansk, the state leader issued a travel order, and the first train heading to Crimea departed from the Moskovsky railway station in St. Petersburg to Sevastopol.
According to Kyiv, Russia's actions regarding the Crimean Bridge evidently violate the United Nations’ Convention on the Law of the Sea and agreements between countries, as well as contradict international legal norms and principles.
