Young Man Stabbed Near Kapan Club: Details

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed details regarding an incident in Kapan where a 26-year-old resident sustained severe bodily injuries. One individual has been arrested.

On November 27, 2019, at 09:25 AM, the Kapan division of the police received a call from the 'Kapan Medical Center' LLC stating that a young man born in 1993 had been transported to them with a diagnosis of 'stab wound to the left side of the chest and laceration to the top of the head with bleeding.'

Further investigation revealed that the victim had sustained these injuries during an altercation that occurred around 04:00 AM on the same day in the yard of a club located on Spandaryan Street in Kapan.

In response to the incident, a criminal case has been initiated by the regional investigative department of Syunik under Article 112, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. As a result of urgent investigative actions and operational measures, the identity of the individual who allegedly committed the crime has been established; he is a 1988-born resident of Kapan.

The suspect has since been arrested. A series of investigative steps have been conducted, including an examination of the crime scene, interrogations of several individuals, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and measures are being taken to ensure an objective, complete, and thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
