Police Inspector Arrested While Receiving Bribe of 55,000 AMD
In a collaborative effort between the Armenian Police and the National Security Service (NSS), it has been established that a police inspector from the Armavir division demanded a bribe of 55,000 AMD from a citizen in exchange for preparing the necessary documents to legalize illegal firearms and registering them in accordance with established procedures.
The Police reported that operatives from the Main Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime of the Police apprehended the inspector immediately after he received 25,000 AMD, which was part of the bribe amount.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident and has been forwarded to the Special Investigative Service. The police officer has been arrested.
