Man Stabbed in Entrance Dies
On the morning of November 26, a 66-year-old man was transported by ambulance from his apartment in the 43rd building of the Center district of Hrazdan to the Hrazdan Medical Center. He sustained stab wounds to the chest that were incompatible with life; the stabbed man died.
A criminal case has been initiated by the territorial investigative department on the basis of murder. Detectives from the Kotayk regional police department and the Hrazdan police department actively cooperated with officers from the main criminal investigation department and the Kotayk regional investigative department to uncover the particularly serious crime while the trail was still fresh.
Joint efforts revealed several circumstances of the incident. The man, who was engaged in the exchange and sale of currency, had left his apartment early in the morning to go to work and was stabbed on the entrance staircase platform. After sustaining injuries and losing blood, he had managed to return home and lost consciousness. His household called for an ambulance.
The arriving medical team transported him to a healthcare facility. Soon, it became clear that the incident was not the work of one individual. Two young men were waiting on the entrance staircase for the man who was rushing to work. This hypothesis was confirmed by the operational-investigative measures and investigative actions carried out night and day.
On November 27, around midnight, a 19-year-old resident of Hrazdan was apprehended by the police. On the night of November 28, the second suspect, an 18-year-old who is a neighbor of the deceased, was also detained. They were presented to the investigative body handling the preliminary investigation and were arrested. Operational-investigative measures and investigative actions continue within the criminal case to clarify all circumstances of the incident, including the motive.
