Father Accesses Ex-Wife's Social Media from Child's Phone and Distributes Semi-Nude Photos
A 33-year-old resident of Armavir Province has been charged for sending semi-nude photos and messages of his ex-wife to her relatives after accessing her social media account through their child's mobile phone. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, the man, who was divorced from a resident of Yerevan by court decree, noticed in early December 2018 that the password for his ex-wife's Facebook account was saved on their child's mobile phone. Without her permission, he copied her semi-nude photos and personal messages from the website and kept them.
It was also noted that some time later, he sent these photos and messages to his ex-wife's brother and sister, violating her constitutionally guaranteed rights to freedom and confidentiality of communication, as well as her inalienable rights to personal data protection.
Based on the gathered sufficient evidence, the man has been charged under Article 144 of the RA Criminal Code (illegal collection, storage, use, or dissemination of information about personal or family life) and part 1 of Article 254 of the RA Criminal Code (illegal appropriation of computer information). The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor for oversight of the legality of the preliminary investigation with an accusatory conclusion.
