Military Personnel Injured in Car Accident in Yerevan
Today, on November 28, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 19:30, the driver of a Chevrolet Aveo with the license plate 35 MS 481 lost control of the vehicle under unknown circumstances on Monte Melkonian Street. The car veered off the roadway, collided with basalt slabs, broke several trees, and ended up partially overturned in the traffic lane.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the driver, who was initially assisted by bystanders, was extracted from the vehicle with the help of emergency services that arrived promptly and was taken to a military hospital.
Traffic police from the 1st police battalion, led by Senior Inspector Aghasi Khachatryan, quickly arrived at the scene. Mikayel Agababyan, the on-duty officer at Yerevan's traffic management center, reported the accident to the traffic investigation department, from where a response team arrived, headed by Chief of the department Khachik Samvelyan and Senior Investigator Davit Gevorgyan.
Materials are being prepared by Davit Gevorgyan regarding the incident. The police are working to establish the driver's identity. The photojournalist reported that bystanders at the scene claimed that the driver is a service member of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, and military uniforms were found inside the vehicle. Following instructions from the investigator, the vehicle has been towed to a secured area in Yerevan.
