Emergency Incident in Syunik Region: Fire Breaks Out in Truck with Iranian License Plates

An emergency incident has occurred moments ago in the Syunik region. Around 22:50, a fire broke out in a truck with Iranian license plates on the 246 km segment of the Yerevan-Meghri highway under still unknown circumstances.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the emergency situations ministry's rescue service dispatched fire and rescue units from the Syunik regional rescue administration with two battle teams to the scene.

Also present at the scene are officers from the 2nd squad of the 2nd police battalion of the road police, led by squad commander Gegham Margaryan. The cause of the fire in the vehicle will be determined following a series of investigations.

The operational group from the Goris police department has also arrived. The police are working to ascertain the identities of the vehicle's owner and driver. Fortunately, according to preliminary reports, there are no injuries.
