Criminal Investigation Uncovers Drug Trafficking Inside Correctional Facility
The RA Investigative Committee’s Main Department for Combating Human Trafficking, Violations of Child Sexual Integrity, and Illegal Drug Circulation has uncovered significant details in an ongoing criminal case regarding the illegal trafficking of drugs.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, an individual accused of illegal drug trafficking has continued to engage in the sale of drugs, particularly the substance MDMB(N)-2201, while being imprisoned in a correctional facility.
The extensive investigative and procedural actions have revealed the mechanism of illegal drug trafficking, as well as the identity of the individual assisting in the sale, who is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1992. Furthermore, a chain of illegal drug circulation has been uncovered.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the inmate used a 27-year-old girl, who is his girlfriend, to hide drugs at various locations in Yerevan. The drugs were delivered to buyers once they transferred the required amounts to the payment accounts provided by the inmate.
Following investigative actions and operational-search measures, the 27-year-old girl was located and arrested on suspicion of aiding in the illegal circulation of drugs. The investigation is ongoing, and necessary measures are being taken to clarify the involvement of other individuals in the illegal drug sales, the source of acquisition, and other significant circumstances relevant to the case.
