The Most Likely Candidate for the President of the Football Federation

The newspaper 'Jamanak' reports that on December 23, a general assembly of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) will be held, resulting in the election of a new executive committee and a new president of the Federation. Our sources claim that the most likely candidate for the position of FFA president is Tovmas Grigoryan, the president of the Lori Football Club and a businessman. Grigoryan is a football person who has been in the field for years and is well-accepted.

Moreover, he has managed to hold meetings with representatives of many Armenian clubs, who have set the prerequisite of selling the Lori Football Club in order to support him. Grigoryan has already agreed to this condition and appears to be accommodating to all parties involved.

According to the newspaper's sources, the candidacy of many representatives in the football world is resting on Grigoryan, since in addition to being a successful football and financially stable person, Grigoryan has good relationships with various branches of the government. This is an important factor because football activities require constant communication and operational solutions, touching on issues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to local authorities.

A weak person with no connections cannot be the president of the federation, no matter how appealing their words may be, one of our interlocutors added.
