Lori Owner Tovmas Grigoryan to Run for HFF Presidency
A member of the HFF Executive Committee and owner of Vanadzor’s Lori Football Club, Tovmas Grigoryan, is set to run for the presidency of the Football Federation of Armenia (HFF). Grigoryan announced this on his Facebook page.
“Concerned about the current state of Armenian football and clearly envisioning all the necessary urgent steps that will restore the glory of our football, I have decided to express my consent to participate in the upcoming elections for HFF president. In this regard, some members of the football family, taking into account past experiences, have understandably expressed concerns that the newly elected president should not be an owner of any club. This concern is also felt among those who support me. Therefore, I officially declare that in the event I am elected HFF president, neither I nor associated individuals will own a football club,” he stated.
Earlier, Khoren Hovhannisyan had also expressed a desire to run for the HFF presidency. Arthur Vanyetsyan, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia, resigned from his position days ago, and the current executive committee will be dissolved on December 23. On the same day, a new HFF president and executive committee will be elected.
