Video: $20,000 and Gold Jewelry Safe Theft Unveiled
On November 21, a report regarding a residential burglary was received at the Kapan Police Department. A fireproof safe containing $20,000 and over 30 gold jewelry pieces had been stolen from a woman's residence. This information was provided by the police.
Officers from the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Police, the Syunik Regional Department, and the Kapan Division conducted joint operations to gather factual data regarding the identity of the individual responsible for the theft. Operational measures also revealed the circumstances of the incident.
On the night of November 24, the suspect was located and taken into police custody. A 38-year-old man from Kajaran was presented to the investigating authorities, where he confessed and was subsequently arrested. Through further measures, law enforcement discovered the fireproof safe in a ravine, which was already emptied.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
