VIDEO: Powers of One Officer Seen in Video Extracting Confessions with Batons Suspended

The police announced that during the internal investigation conducted in connection with the video titled "Scandalous Video: Domestic Police Extracting Confessions with Batons and Gas Masks" published on NewsMedia.am, one police officer has been summoned to the Department of Internal Security.

Simultaneously, efforts are being made to identify other individuals seen in the video.

As part of the service investigation, the acting chief of police has suspended the powers of Narek Simonian, the head of the Chambarak police department.

Earlier, it was reported that a clarification was published on the official Facebook page of the Armenian police regarding the video circulating on the internet, in which, according to various theories, police officers, specifically those from the criminal investigation unit, are allegedly using violence against an individual.
