Criminal Case Launched in Connection with Murder in Hrazdan
The Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case regarding the murder of a 66-year-old man in Hrazdan.
According to preliminary data, on November 26, 2019, around 08:30, the alleged perpetrator attacked Levon Chuljyan, a resident of Hrazdan born in 1953, with a sharp cutting-piercing tool, inflicting bodily harm. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 104, Part 2, Clause 8 of the RA Criminal Code.
A forensic-investigative group immediately deployed to the crime scene and took urgent measures to clarify the circumstances of the incident. As a result, factual data was obtained that the 66-year-old man suffered fatal injuries at the entrance of a building. The suspect inflicted several blows to various parts of his body with the sharp tool, leading to his death.
During the preliminary investigation, a search of the crime scene was conducted, which revealed blood-like traces, samples were taken, and the victim's clothing at the time of the incident was seized. Forensic medical, forensic biological, and forensic trace examinations have been commissioned to clarify significant circumstances of the case.
The investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigative and procedural actions are being undertaken to ensure a comprehensive, objective, and complete examination of the incident and to identify the suspect(s). Instructions have been given to the relevant division of the Police.
