Brawl over a Girl: 10 Taken into Custody, One Hospitalized
On November 22, a brawl occurred in Yerevan, according to Shamshyan.com. At around 15:20, the central police department received a call from Yerevan's number 1 university hospital reporting that a citizen had been admitted with "skull trauma, a broken nose, and abrasions."
Police determined that the injured party, 23-year-old Davit Hayrapetyan, a resident of the Davitashen administrative district, was unable to provide details about the incident, according to doctors.
Following the brawl at the intersection of Nalbandyan and Koryun streets, ten individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the incident. These include: 22-year-old Arthur Baghdasaryan, a fourth-year finance student at the Armenian State University of Economics; 21-year-old Davit Gevorgyan, a third-year pharmacy student at Yerevan State Medical University; 19-year-old Arman Kocharyan from the Republic of Artsakh, also a third-year student at YSMU; 18-year-old Felix Grigoryan, a second-year student at YSMU; 21-year-old Khachatur Avetisyan from Armavir; 19-year-old Artyom Sahakyan from the village of Tziatyan in Armavir Province, a second-year student at YSMU; 20-year-old Tigran Gyurjyan from the village of Chinchin in Tavush Province, a third-year student at Yerevan State University; 20-year-old Davit Keropyan, a citizen of Georgia temporarily residing in Yerevan and studying at YSMU; 19-year-old Edik Ayvazyan, a Georgian citizen temporarily living in the village of Jrviz in Kotayk Province, also studying at YSMU; and 20-year-old Armen Aslanyan from Armavir, a first-year international relations student at Yerevan State University.
According to G. Shamshyan, the individuals refused to provide explanations about the incident and were released. The injured Davit Hayrapetyan is a police officer, and the brawl that took place near the Pedagogical University at 13 Alek Manukyan Street is unrelated to his professional duties.
