VIDEO: Armenian Piano Teacher Sentenced to 4 Years for Assaulting Student in Moscow
A Moscow court has sentenced music teacher Mher Makhsudyan to four years in conditional imprisonment for assaulting his student. According to RIA Novosti, the man has also been banned from teaching music for two years. The court ordered Makhsudyan to pay the girl's family 100,000 rubles as compensation for the harm caused.
Earlier reports indicated that the 23-year-old music teacher repeatedly struck the 8-year-old girl on the head and insulted her. The girl had shared the abuse with her parents, who then installed cameras at home to monitor the teacher’s behavior.
Makhsudyan claimed that he raised his hand to the girl for educational purposes, believing that she could only achieve success through pain and suffering.
