Video: Environmental Disaster Looms Over Odessa as Oil Spill Occurs
Environmental disaster is looming over Odessa. Recently, the anchor of the "Delphi" oil tanker was severed, causing the ship to capsize. An oil spill has begun.
The concentration of oil in the water has exceeded permissible limits by more than 50 times, despite earlier reports stating that there was no oil or fuel in the ship's holds. According to Ukrainian media reports, the ship was left without control and electricity for at least one day.
It is known that there were three crew members on board. They long refused to leave the ship before rescuers were forced to evacuate them.
