VIDEO: 23-Year-Old Satenik's Eyes Are Once Again Shedding 'Glass Tears'; Treatment Proves Ineffective
A new video that surfaced online about a 23-year-old woman shedding 'glass tears' has sparked significant interest and incited various comments. Satenik Ghazaryan, a resident of Spandaryan village in Shirak Province, has had crystal pieces removed from her eyes at the Artik Medical Center that had been absent for a month.
This phenomenon has drawn the attention of not only Armenian specialists but also Russian experts. Russian doctors, through investigation, revealed that the crystals extracted from the girl's eyes are fragments of glass of various sizes and do not form within the eye.
Satenik was examined again by an ophthalmologist at the Artik hospital. It had been a month since any crystals had appeared in her eyes, following her cessation of medication at Yerevan's Shengavit Medical Center. A similar occurrence took place two months prior, also triggered by medication. Severe headaches and a deteriorating condition, along with pain on the right side of her face, compelled her to seek medical help yesterday.
The ophthalmologist at Artik Hospital removed two pieces of glass from her eye, with the moment documented by the hospital's dentist. Notably, it was ophthalmologist Anna Stepanyan who first identified and removed the 'glass crystals' from Satenik's eye. Dr. Stepanyan confirms that the extracted glass included colored fragments, and she recommended that Satenik consult specialists at clinics in Yerevan.
Results from Russian specialists affirmed that the crystals do not form in Satenik's eyes, confirming that they are ordinary glass. Subsequently, Satenik's family was advised to seek help from a neurologist or psychiatrist.
At that time, it became known that Satenik had experienced epilepsy seizures at a young age. A neurologist examined her at a local medical center. However, according to the doctor, individuals with this diagnosis cannot exhibit self-harm functions in such a manner.
