‘Haykakan Zhamanak’: ‘My Step’ and BHK Set for Political Battles
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ reports that Gagik Tsarukyan has recently been invited to Moscow for meetings with political circles. He did not stay long, just 1-2 days, and returned yesterday. Our sources in Moscow indicate that the purpose of the visit was to bolster Tsarukyan and the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), as the relationship between ‘My Step’ and BHK has recently deteriorated—particularly in parliament—and significant ‘battles’ are anticipated around the budget in the near future.
Russian officials have again indicated that a radical opposition must form in Armenia, and BHK is deemed the most suitable force for this purpose, which they are prepared to support.
The official statement regarding the visit mentions that the delegation led by Gagik Tsarukyan was in Moscow at the invitation of Sergey Neverov, the leader of the ruling ‘United Russia’ faction in the State Duma, where they participated in a conference titled ‘The Role of Political Parties and Alliances in the Cooperation of CIS Member States within Inter-Parliamentary Partnerships.’
