Shame on You, Mr. Prime Minister, Read Armenian History: Sharmazanov to Pashinyan
The spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, wrote on his Facebook page: "Shame on you, Mr. Prime Minister, read Armenian history. Nikol is becoming unbearable and is misrepresenting our history. In response to a question from a Russian journalist, he stated that the name of Nzhdeh has only appeared in our history since the Battle of Sardarapat. Shame on you. Let me inform you, Mr. Prime Minister.
Nzhdeh participated in the Balkan War against the Turks in 1912 as the commander of the Armenian Volunteer Battalion, alongside Andranik. In 1914, Garegin Nzhdeh took part in World War I as the deputy commander of the Armenian Second Volunteer Regiment, whose commander was Dro, and for whom Tsarist Russia awarded him one of its highest honors, the 'Georgievsky Cross.'
Regarding the Battle of Sardarapat, Nzhdeh did not participate in that battle; instead, he was one of the leaders in the heroic Battle of Qaraqilisa. It would be better to learn about your own nation's history before speaking. P.S. This is yet another reason why the teaching of Armenian history should be mandatory in universities."
