Minimum Wage Increase Proposal Originated from Us, Says LHK MP
“Accusing ‘Enlightened Armenia’ of being against wage increases has no relation to reality. The proposal for increasing the minimum wage has indeed come from us. I believe that our political arena should foster a culture where we can work with each other and have the ability to listen to criticism,” said Arkadi Khachatryan, a member of the ‘Enlightened Armenia’ faction during a press briefing in the National Assembly on November 20, addressing allegations that they oppose wage increases.
It should be noted that the Prime Minister of Armenia recently addressed the opposition's assessment that the 2020 budget is not revolutionary, stating, “Let them just say they are against wage increases.”
According to Khachatryan, the budget does have positive aspects, but where there are vulnerable areas, criticism should be made. That is the mission of the opposition. The MP noted that the faction has not yet specified how they will vote on the budget proposal.
