Hraparak: Im Kaylakan Officials Carefully Executed the Operation
Hraparak newspaper reports: The initiator of the closed meeting between the Im Kaylakan parliamentary members and the residents of Jermuk was the Prime Minister. He urged the deputies to organize periodic meetings and persuade the Jermuk residents. This will not be the last gathering.
The Im Kaylakan officials have conducted the operation cautiously to ensure that environmentalists do not participate in the closed meeting and that the discussion does not escalate. However, these discussions are not encouraging.
Despite assurances to the Jermuk residents that conditions will improve, and that the talk of risks is a myth—otherwise no mine would be operational in Armenia—some participants in the discussion have remained adamant, stating that they will not allow access to the road leading to the mine.
They have been convinced to at least allow the machinery into the area for inspection, but once the snow arrives, this will become impossible. Ultimately, it is fruitless.
