From Now On, Armenian Citizens Can Enter Qatar Visa-Free
Today, an official meeting took place between Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Emiri Diwan of the State of Qatar. This information was provided by the Public Relations Department of the President of Armenia.
Welcoming the President of Armenia and emphasizing their long-standing excellent personal relations, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated on the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Qatar, noting that the two countries have wonderful relations.
President Sarkissian thanked the Emir for the cancellation of the visa requirement for Armenian citizens entering Qatar and for the active support shown in opening the Armenian Embassy in Qatar. The President expressed confidence that the cancellation of visa requirements would positively impact the further promotion of economic, cultural, scientific, educational, and especially tourism relations.
Both President Sarkissian and Emir Tamim emphasized the significant potential for cooperation between the two friendly countries and the importance of expanding and strengthening their relations. As possible areas of cooperation, they mentioned healthcare, education, and scientific research, as well as the opportunity for studying in Doha.
President Sarkissian expressed being very impressed with the activities of the Qatari Foundation. “This is also an international center and has many commonalities with our vision for development,” said President Sarkissian, “thus, we have decided to form a joint working group to clarify the directions of cooperation.”
The President highlighted the considerable potential for cooperation in scientific, educational, and technological fields, noting the possibility of collaboration within the framework of the presidential initiative aimed at the development of cutting-edge technologies and science in Armenia, known as ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow).
